When checking the stress limit in cracked sections, the stresses are beyond the limit for concrete check. Does Midas Civil consider cracked section in the stress limit check?

Answer:

Software does consider cracked section for designing for hogging moment and uncracked for sagging moment on the section irrespective of what is considered.

So, for cracked section, concrete is not considered while calculating the section properties.

So, the stiffness of section get reduced and strains in section increases for same moment.

Thus, higher stress are received in concrete.
