Accidental load CS454

Question:

Good morning,

I would like to apply an accidental vehicle in my model in accordance with CS454. 



Is that possible in MIDAS, or should I create a user defined vehicle?

I try to create the accidental load in MIDAS using the user defined vehicle. 


Is this the right way?



I also created a traffic lane for the accidental vehicle. 

When I assigned the wheel spacing equal to 1.8 m I got the following error message. Do you know why?




Moreover, I cannot tick the Transverse lane optimization option, because I get an error in the moving load case:







I my results the position of the load is like this:




I don't quite understand the transverse placement of the load. Could you please help me?

Question1: I try to create the accidental load in MIDAS using the user defined vehicle. Is this the right way?
Answer: D1, D2, Dn.... are the distance from the centre line of vehicle. As the vehicle is symmetric, thus we need to apply the vehicle definition as shown below. Modify each axle by defining only one side of the vehicle with D1 value as 0.9m (which is half of the axle width) and checking the symmetric vehicle option on.


Question2:I also created a traffic lane for the accidental vehicle. 
When I assigned the wheel spacing equal to 1.8 m I got the following error message. Do you know why?
Answer: Actually, the wheel spacing provided here will be overridden by permit vehicle wheel spacing. Thus, we need not to provide 1.8m width.

Question3: Moreover, I cannot tick the Transverse lane optimization option, because I get an error in the moving load case?
Answer: Transverse lane optimization cannot be performed for permit vehicle.

Question4: I my results the position of the load is like this:
Answer: After updating the accidental vehicle, the vehicle position obtained for one of the support reaction is

Hello,

For this, then provide the permit vehicle definition with negative eccentricity of what is mentioned earlier.

This will place the vehicle as shown below.

Further, transverse lane optimization applies the vehicle at position right end, left end and middle within allowable width. So, we can manually define the 3 different lines lanes regarding the left, right and middle of accidental lane for this and obtain the envelope of results.
