MODELING OF PILE CAP, PILES & PERFORMING RESPONSE SPECTRUM ANALYSIS

Question:
Question 1

" After running perform analysis, I received the following message "Please check for warning message in file.....OUT" . However i was not able to open the file in which the warning message was in. Furthermore, I am unable to open all MIDAS output files with the following endings ..OUT, bak, MOUT,cd8 etc" (a) Kindly advise which software to use to open and read the information".

(b) You however did clarify on boundary conditions and showed an example of element No. 609. I have reviewed all the relevant elements and amended them accordingly. I have provided a Screen short of the amendment, kindly confirm if its done correctly this time.

Quest 2. On Live Load
I had actually run in same program Live Load LM1 but without factor of 0.2. In your response you referred me to the Moving Live Load which is ok. However my problem is how to integrate or include the Live Load LM1 factored by 0.2 in the Response Spectrum analysis as required under the Eurocode EN 1998-2:2005 Art 4.1.2 (4). What exactly are the steps.

Answer: Kindly provide the beam end release to one element joining at node. Let's say element 609 and 610 connect at node 768. So, provide beam end release to either 609 or 610. Apply to any one of two element joining at a nodes.

Answer: We cannot convert moving load to masses directly. We first have to convert the critical moving load case (depending on results required) into static load using moving load tracer option. For conversion of moving load for desired critical results to static load, refer to video in the link (Click Here). After converting that vehicle position to static load, we can convert that load into mass.
