The question about "Moving Load Optimization" in Russian code

Question:

Hello, I have a question about the "Moving Load Optimization"function. Question and model in the attachment.

Answer:

Hi,

Here is the explanation to your query.

One lane is defined as shown below. The wheel loads are always located as symmetric about the centerline of the lane while the wheel spacing is defined by the user. Thus, the distance between one boundary line of the lane and one wheel load is (Lane Width - Wheel Spacing)/2 = 1515 mm.

The lane above is generated transversely on the carriageway by the spacing of offset (0.1 m).

The boundary line of the lane should always be located within the carriageway width. It cannot be located beyond the carriageway width.

The minimum distance between vehicles is determined as the larger between '2 times margin' and 'Min. Vehicle Distance' entered from the 'Moving Load Case' dialog.

So, in order to apply wheel loads closer to the boundary of the carriageway by the margin (550 mm) as shown below, you should define the lane width as 3000 mm ( = 2 x margin + wheel spacing) instead of 4930 mm.

Regards,
DK
