[VIEW]     How do I consider moment release at only one end of a beam, say in y-direction?

A: Beam End Release option in midas Gen, gives the user the freedom to choose the releases from 6 DOFs and also at the required end. You can check local axis for ith end and the jth end.

From the main menu select Boundaries > Release/offset > Beam End Releases

Let’s consider a moment release in y-direction at ithend of the element.

To know the direction of the element, from main menu select View > Display > Element and check Local Direction


The direction of the arrow displayed indicates that the element starts from ithand ends with jthend
