Results not Matching for Mdz3

Question:

Again, Results not matching between Midas analysis and Midas design in MDz3 (Short Term Moment) (Lateral bending Moment).

AND:

Service Lateral Bending Moment is not matching as well, please check below.

Please I need clarifications for all this miss-matching asap.

Your cooperation and response, is highly appreciated.

Dear,

Regarding Service Limit State:

There was calculation mistake in the excel sheet for service limit state in the calculation of the flange lateral stress due to short term load, on correcting that we are getting the results as shown in the excel.

Kindly find the modified excel sheet.

Kindly let us know if further assistance is required.

Dear,

Again, Results not matching between Midas analysis and Midas design in MDz3 (Short Term Moment) (Lateral bending Moment).
Ans: The reason for the difference between the manual calculations and the design values is due to the concurrent minor axis moment taken for the design rather than the critical Mz moment. In the design, the critical case for the major axis moment is taken that is My and the relevant Mz is used for the design rather than critical Mdz.
We could check the relevant Mdz, i.e. the minor axis moment when the major axis moment is critical as shown below by using "view by max value" option:

Also, the load combination type helps user understand for which component of force is the concurrent Mz calculated as shown below:

In the manual calculation, the contribution due to settlement was left out, after adding that it matches with that of the report.

I am attaching the modified excel sheet for your reference.

Service Lateral Bending Moment is not matching as well, please check below.
Ans: Yes, here even after considering the concurrent force of the moving load the stresses aren't matching. We have reported it to our developer and update you with the progress. I have modified the excel which shows the expected value which is 0.588 ksi.
