Sub-domain - plate beam data for checking;

Question:

Hello,

client is asking about checking the number of sub domain. He defined 2 sub domains to each direction: so 2 for Dir. 1 and 2 for Dir. 2, but on the screen we casn see 4 sub- domain for each Dir. Why.?

Regards,

Answer:

Hey,

Well, 2 are for top slab and other 2 for bottom slab.

I couldn't quite understand the problem here...

Hello,

Further explanation to my previously ask question.

There are 2 sub-domains. The first one represents the roof slab (250 mm thk) and the second one is the ground floor slab (200 mm thk).

In both sub-domains 2 directions are defined – so direction 1 and direction 2 as specified in Rebar Input for Plate Beam.

But in the menu Plate Beam Data for Checking when I use e.g. Floor/roof Slab for Rebar (defined by myself) I would expect to see the sub-domains relevant to direction 1 and direction 2 (so only 2) and named equivalently, so:

Roof slab for Rebar – Roof slab for rebar dir 1 & Roof  slab for rebar dir 2

And separately

Floor slab for Rebar – Floor slab for rebar dir 1 & Floor slab for rebar dir 2

But I see all 4 sub-domains in the Rebar Data part of window.

Not sure if that is correct and how the system reads rebar data for particular slab?

Hello,

That's not how it would be.  Each domain would have relevant sub-domain.  Sub-domains can't be common in different domains.
