I am doing a buckling analysis for a Main edge girder of a highly skewed highway bridge. When going through the mode shapes I find that the cross girders often buckle first. This is not realistic because there is jack arches in which i have not modelled.
Is there a simple way to prevent the cross members from bucking other that adding in additional supports or bracing members.
There is no special function for this. How about increasing stiffness (Area, Iyy, Izz) of the cross girders using Section the Section Manager>Stiffness function?
