Midas Design: Retaining Wall

Question:

Hi, Please help with the following questions:

I saw the water load coefficient. How does the water load contribute to the design of the retaining wall?
Do you consider the case with water behind retaining wall in the design?

Thanks

Answer:
Here is the screenshot for my questions. Thanks.

Hello,

It is load due to fluids in accordance with Section 2.3.2 of ASCE 7.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Hi Hwang,

Many thanks for your response. It means that the program considers the case with water behind retaining wall in the design, right?
If that is the case, how can I specify the height of water behind the wall? Thanks.

Hello,

Thank you for sending your question.
I've checked your question to the developer, and he said that there were issues so the water behind retaining wall is being modified.
The water factor field will be deactivated. For the work around, consider a design load with water pressure in the density and height of back filled.
Apologies for this situation and we will fix it as soon as possible.
Thank you.
Best regards,
Jihong Hwang

Thank you. I hope this problem can be resolved as soon as possible. The case with water behind the wall are pretty common in the retaining wall without weep holes.
